With just a little more than a month away, it looks to be another stellar year for gaming at Con*Stellation, featuring a variety of RPGs, CCGs, and Miniature Wargaming. Here's a list of just a few of the many games that will take place during Con*Stellation XXVII.
- World of Warcraft TCG Realm Qualifier - The top four players will receive an invitation to play at the National Championships!
- Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition Adventures
- Munchkin
- The Republic of Rome
- Scion: Hero
- Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magical Carrot
If you like sitting around a table with cards, but not of the collectible variety, there is also our yearly Killer Cutthroat Spades tournament. Of course, you shouldn't miss this year's LARP, "It's a Kind of Magic", run by actual Goddesses! No, really!
Stay tuned for further updates! If you want to run a game, write to the general convention address marked Attention Game Master or e-mail gamemaster@con-stellation.org.
LARP
What, you may ask yourself, is a LARP? An exotic fish? No, a LARP, or Live Action Role Playing game, is a live-action role playing game (think Dungeons and Dragons) where the participants act out their character's actions. You can read an article about LARPs at Wikipedia.
This year's LARP game is brought to you by G.A.M.E.R.S. (and late night coffee) and is entitled "It's a Kind of Magic". This game has been created by Jenn Albright, Livy Lu, and others and is based on material originally created by longtime gaming and Con*Stellation friend, the late Pat McAdams. This game is put on and played in honor of Pat.
What's the game about? Imagine this world. Add a liberal splash of magic, medieval, military and madness. Something has caused a rift in time. Some are seeking power, some are seeking enlightenment, and some are seeking an artifact. It's up to the Atlanteans, Vikings, Nazis, Egyptians, Aliens, and present day humans to determine the course of history. Some players will have magical abilities, some will have great weapons. Live Action Role Playing with Simple Rules and Complex Plot. Dress fabulously and lie a lot! This game has been written at the request of several; you wanted something different and you wanted to have fun! Here's your chance! Come play...
