Worldcons are the annual World Science Fiction Conventions, the sites of which are selected 2 years in advance. Site selection for Worldcon (as well as voting for the Hugo Awards) is held per rules of the World Science Fiction Society, aka WSFS. When Worldcon is outside of North America, WSFS rules allow that there may be a North American Science Fiction Convention (NASFiC) held that year. "World Science Fiction Society," "WSFS," "World Science Fiction Convention," "Worldcon," "NASFiC," "Hugo Award," and the distinctive design of the Hugo Award Rocket are service marks of the World Science Fiction Society, an unincorporated literary society.
